The cider category of the National Craft Beer Championships 2015 has been reopened for entries from Thursday 19 November until Friday, 28 November 2015 at 5pm.

Hosted by The South African Breweries and Craft Beer South Africa, the championship organisers reopened the cider category to allow more for entries in order to ensure a more robust and fairer representation of ciders available in the country to be judged.

The new cider entries will be judged on Saturday, 28 November 2015 under the same conditions as per the BJCP guidelines. Sean Watts will again act as Convenor of Judges and Grant Thornton will again audit the judging process and results.

The scores of the new entries will be added to the database of scores of the existing entries. Top 15 entries will be announced on 30 November 2015 and the top three ciders will be announced at the Awards Dinner on 3 December 2015 alongside the top three beers and the Journalists Choice award.

Cider samples must be delivered to Norah Mpoko at the SAB Cyril Ramaphosa World of Learning in Kyalami, Johannesburg. Judging will take place on Saturday, 24 October 2015.

Ciders entered must be regularly brewed and commercially available and fit the categories as laid out in the Beer Judge Certification Programme (BJCP) style 2015 guidelines.
