SAB Foundation Programmes
The long-term vision behind the SAB Foundation’s programmes is to ignite a culture of entrepreneurship in South Africa.
Research has shown that South Africa lacks a critical mass of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It also shows that South Africa needs entrepreneurial role models and that our culture of innovation remains largely untapped.
The SAB Foundation aims to contribute towards nurturing a South African culture of entrepreneurship by supporting the growth of a critical mass of SMEs, developing entrepreneurial role models and stimulating and rewarding innovation.
SAB Foundation Social Innovation Awards
The SAB Foundation Social Innovation Awards is a challenge prize for sustainable social innovation that addresses a challenge faced by our beneficiary groups - women, the youth, persons with disabilities and persons in rural areas.

03 November 2011The SAB Foundation invests in micro, small and medium businesses through grant capital investment in partnership with Endeavor; ‘benevolent’ private equity capital investment and a business support fund providing grassroots support to non-profit organisations, co-operatives and micro-businesses.

12 February 2012The SAB Foundation manages a small-scale grassroots support for non-profits, co-ops, micro-businesses and other ventures which invest in entrepreneurial development and provide income generation and employment. Focus is on co-ops, and rural, women-owned and youth-owned enterprises.

28 October 2011In partnership with Endeavor the SAB Foundation provides support and financial assistance to high-impact, black-owned businesses with grant capital up to R250 000. Endeavor is a non-profit organisation dedicated to transforming emerging markets by establishing high-impact entrepreneurship as the leading force for sustainable economic development.
