#BrewersDiaries: Meet the Brewers

#brewersdiaries

Over the past few weeks we’ve gone in search of the people behind the breweries, in an effort to uncover what happens behind the scenes in the day-to-day life of our brewery masterminds. We wanted to let you see what goes on in a life that has been relatively closed off to the public until now.

The #BrewersDiaries are a way for us to give our Master Brewers a voice, and to showcase the lifestyle and culture they live, while bringing you the best SAB beers. The diaries are a visual peek into the people, places and processes behind your beer, fresh from our brewers. We picked Instagram as the best platform to showcase these stories, as it’s a beautifully functional and fully immersive social network perfectly suited to storytelling.

The brewers will take you into the heart of their work’s purpose through Instagram snippets, and give you insight into the art of brewing, like you’ve never seen it before. You’ll learn from the people directly responsible for bringing you your favourite beers and see a new side to modern brewery.

While some stories start with an early morning surf session to get the day started, others talk about island life in Mayotte - a tropical island positioned in the Indian Ocean between Madagascar and the coast of Mozambique. It’s a French province with a tropical climate that includes volcanic jungle landscapes. Truly beautiful!

Through the series you’ll meet some of our SAB Master Brewers, like Denis da Silva in the Mother City of Cape Town and Kate Jones, and her small team of seven, in Mayotte. We’ll even catch a glimpse of the local island cows putting in a cameo appearance or two.

Through these diaries, you’ll come to see that brewers are so much more than just beer makers; they’re creative individuals with an inspirational culture of their own. They’re already sharing their passion for their craft and the skills of their trade online – all you have to do is make sure that you’re following their journey, so you can take part in their adventures.
