SA SPORTS MEDIA HONOURED DURING 37th ANNUAL SAB SPORTS MEDIA AWARDS

Johannesburg, 24 November 2017. The South African Breweries (SAB) announced the winners in its 37th Annual SAB Sports Media Awards last night, Thursday, 23rd November 2017.

“At SAB we believe that sport plays a powerful rule in empowering individuals and bringing positive change to communities. We are committed through our company strategy to improving lives.

“Equally important is appreciating the work that goes into reporting and analysing sporting news. It is through our sporting media that we are able to gain more insight into each game and the world of sport. We appreciate the light they shine on these events and issues and it is important that they are recognised for excellence in this sphere,” says Robyn Chalmers, Director Communications, SAB and AB InBev Africa.

An expert independent judging panel selects the winners within each of the 17 categories.

The sub-category winners each received cash prizes of R15,000 while each Newcomer of the Year receives R5,000 and the inaugural Journalists’ Journalist of the Year receives a cheque for R10,000.
