The South African Breweries has opened the entries for this year’s “SAB Environmental Media & Environmentalist of the Year Awards” via their online entry portal.
The portal, implemented for the first time last year, has been designed for both entrants and judges to use.
The SAB Environmental Media Awards portal allows entrants to upload entries and then the judges to download the entries they need to score. The entire system has been audited to ensure it is transparent.
“This system was used to great effect last year, ” says Robyn Chalmers, Head of Corporate Communications at SAB. “All entrants can still use their log-in details from last year and if their password has been misplaced or forgotten, it can be retrieved via the tab on the website.”
The competition also has two nomination categories, namely, “The Nick Steele Memorial Award” for the Environmentalist of the Year and the “Hall of Fame.” These nominations can be made by registering on the portal and then following the instructions.
“With the wealth of environmental issues in the news today, coupled with the legacy of strong environmental journalism in South Africa, we look forward to a fantastic competition this year, ” concludes Chalmers.
Entries for the SAB Environmental Media & Environmentalist of the Year open at 8am on 5th August 2013 and close at 5pm on Friday 6th September 2013.
Winners will be announced at an Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, 16th October 2013.
