Meet our three hosts:

Aspasia joined Marie Claire as Editor in 2010. A graduate from Wits University, Karras started her journalism career in 1994 as freelance journalist at the Mail and Guardian newspaper.

She continued her career at This Day and later the Sunday Times Lifestyle Magazine before joining ELLE magazine as features editor. Thereafter she worked at The Times newspaper as features editor, before taking over the reigns at Marie Claire.

Aspasia’s dinner will be in Braamfontein and the theme – anatomy of a midnight feast!

Frieda Dehrmann form SAB will advise Aspasia on the best beer pairing to go with her meal.

Editor of the men’s business and lifestyle magazine, DESTINY Man, Kojo Baffoe is an editor, writer, poet and entrepreneur with origins in Ghana and Germany, raised in Lesotho, and based in Johannesburg.

Kojo has been involved in the poetry / spoken word movement in Southern Africa for last 10+ years erratically; has published two collections of poetry; and been featured in publications in South Africa, Canada and Brazil.

He speaks on a range of topics including Re-defining Success, Getting Back to Basics, Finding Purpose and Fatherhood. He is poet laureate for Gordon Institute of Business Science, was founding editor of Blaque Magazine.

Anton Erasmus from SAB will help Kojo pair his meal with SAB’s beers for the perfect culinary experience. Anton is SAB’s Trade Brewer for the Egoli region.

The Jazz Maniacs restaurant at Soweto Hotel

The music of the townships served as an important platform and vehicle for developing singers and instrumentalists. The 1950’s was the era of Jazz development in South Africa.

The Jazz Maniacs Restaurant takes its name after the famous Jazz Maniacs group that was well-known in the 50’s. Today local jazz artists convene at this elegantly decorated venue and entertain diners with jazz of yesteryear as well contemporary musical sounds.

Danie Odenaal is the Brewmaster at SAB’s Chamdor Brewery will be assisting with beer pairing for her meal.
