SAB Graduate Progamme

This programme is structured to teach technical skills, build experience and familiarise young graduates with how SAB works. It’s a rigorous 18-24 months designed to equip the candidate with the knowledge and skill to take on responsibility upon completion.

Recruitment takes place annually in these areas:

  • Information technology/ systems (BSc Informatics, IT and System Design graduates
  • Brewing (BSc Food Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology or Chemical Engineering graduates)
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Marketing
  • Control and automation (BSc Electrical Light Current (Instrumentation) /Electronics Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering or Computer Systems graduates)
  • Supply chain (Industrial Engineering graduates)
  • Electrical engineering (LC/HC)

Bursary Programmes

Our bursary programmes are awarded to talented and deserving South African students. In addition to financial support, our bursars have the opportunity to learn more about the world of work by participating in real business challenges, structured summer school or vacation work. After the successful completion of their degrees, our bursars join the company fulltime as graduate trainees.

Currently we offer bursaries in the following areas:

  • Biological science/chemical engineering
  • Mechatronics/ mechanical engineering.

CA Training Programme

Our CA training programme is a great opportunity for graduates in accounting, for all round career and personal development. The 3 year rotation plan exposes trainees to many aspects of the business. Eligible candidates for the programme must have completed, or be in the process of completing, a Certificate in Theory Accounting (CTA), which will enable them to write the board exam.

Learnerships and In-Service Training

Learnership and in-service training programmes at SAB are designed to develop critical functional and behavioural competencies, which can assist in making the candidate more employable. For the duration of the programme (which can be up to 12 months) both theory and practical components are covered. Each programme has different entry requirements with the minimum in most instances being a Grade 12 (with maths and English as subjects).

The learnership programmes currently offered are open to students with the following qualifications:

  • National Certificate in Marketing (NQF 4)
  • National Certificate Food and Beverage Packaging (NQF 3)
  • National Certificate Systems Development in Information Technology (NQF 5
  • National Certificate Systems Support in Information Technology (NQF 5)
  • National Certificate Business Administration (NQF 4)
  • National Certificate Business Processing and Call Centre Support (NQF 4)

In-Service Training Programmes

In-service trainee work experience is granted to students who require work experience to obtain qualifications like National Diplomas.
