OUR DREAM IS TO BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER
Our history can be traced back to Charles Glass and the Castle Brewery.

WE GIVE MORE THAN WE TAKE.
SAB is part of the AB InBev family, and we’re one of the largest breweries in the world. That comes with a certain responsibility, and we’re dedicated to giving more than we take. We make that happen through sustainable investments, creating opportunity for employment across South Africa, and driving real, tangible economic growth wherever the SAB logo is displayed.
From the ground, up.
Our philosophy is rooted in bettering lives across the country, and it starts in South African soil. Great beer starts with the best ingredients, and it tastes best in locally made glass. From farm to bottle, SAB beers are 97% locally sourced. Part of a building an empowered nation means working with the people who call that country home – all SAB operations are localised to the country they’re in. Wherever you see the SAB logo, you’re looking at an investment.
SAB is proud to have played a large role in revitalising the township economy through several initiatives, aimed at empowerment and job creation. We’ve reached 20 000 taverns in South Africa through a smart trader initiative, and helped to upgrade tavern infrastructure across 3 provinces. Our investment into the township economy has helped to empower many black entrepreneurs, predominantly women, with many of SAB’s products proudly being sold in shebeens across the country.
The SAB name is proudly displayed on a large number of funds, programmes, and initiatives – all with the purpose of uplifting and supporting SMMEs, creating employment opportunities, and assisting with B-BBEE transformation across South Africa. We’re a level 3 B-BBEE contributor ourselves, and we strive to lead by example.South Africa isn’t just where we do business. It’s our home. And we have a responsibility to create a nation of empowerment and equal opportunity, with long-lasting, positive impact.
