SAB INVESTS R4.5BN TO IGNITE ECONOMIC GROWTH
In the wake of economic uncertainty and the need for recovery, The South African Breweries (SAB) has reaffirmed its commitment to ignite the South African economy as it pledges to invest a further R920m into Prospecton and Ibhayi breweries. This ramps up SAB’s total South African investment commitment to R4.5bn – adding impact to an industry that already contributes 1.3% of the national GDP.

In South Africa, 2019 Stats SA data suggests that only 44.9% of South African households have access to piped water.

In 2021, Corona became the first beverage brand in the world to achieve a Net Zero Plastic Footprint. In 2022, and in honour of Global Recycling Day, the South African Breweries (SAB) and Corona are launching a partnership with Ramtsilo, strengthening the local plastic recycling chain and assuring a Net Zero Plastic Footprint locally, in South Africa
