SAB calls on South Africans to be Sharp at events this Festive season!

As  COVID-19 continues to disrupt our lives around the world, here at home we are playing our part in the fight to return to normal.  The South African Breweries (SAB), have always believed in supporting healthy and thriving communities. As part of this we have extended our support and resources to the South African government as it navigates a response to the fourth wave .

In an effort to understand and prepare for the impact of this new wave, SAB implores our fellow South Africans to act responsibly and adhere to all protocols set out by government as they are for our own health and safety.  This includes continuing to sanitize our hands, keeping a social distance and wearing a mask.

In keeping up the highest safety protocols this December, SAB‘s own events, will require proof of vaccination and a  negative Covid-19 Rapid Antigen test. We have already implemented these requirements at our Corona Sunsets events that are currently being hosted at various venues nationally, including ensuring that we leverage outdoor facilities and social distancing. This is our contribution to curbing the spread of the virus while ensuring that life can go on and celebrations can still be had, safely.

As we make our way into the beginnings of the fourth wave, we passionately believe that vaccinations are our most powerful weapon in our fight against Covid-19.  This is the only best tool we have to lower the impact of the fourth wave on our communities as well as our economy.

At SAB, we continue to offer our support to both national and local government in this critical endeavour. As an organisation we have already vaccinated over thousands of people at various pop-up vaccination sites across our breweries and depots.

As a key player in making this work, we call on consumers, retailers and South Africans alike to be safe and act responsibly. It is our duty as South Africans to put the health and safety of our communities and our country first as we all comply with COVID-19 precautions and regulations.

If you are currently not vaccinated, we urge you to register on the Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS) now and get your jab. You can also learn more about the government’s vaccination programme here. SAB joins Business for South Africa in calling on all South Africans to take advantage of the Vooma Vaccination drive this month and get jabbed this festive season, and if you are over the age of 50, you qualify to receive a R200 grocery voucher.
