Timbaland joins the Extra Cold Music experience

Castle Lite is teaming up with multiple Grammy Award-winning producer, Timbaland, to unleash their latest innovation, Extra Cold Music. Extra Cold Music is a world-class music portal bringing Castle Lite consumers the latest local and international tracks directly to their mobile phones. 

Timbaland is the stage name of Timothy Zachery Mosley, an American record producer, songwriter and rapper who has been making music headlines since the mid-1990s. He has worked with some of the biggest names in music today, including the likes of Missy Elliott, Destiny’s Child, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake.

A unique stage music experience

Timbaland has also agreed to exclusively produce a stage music experience like no other - the Extra Cold Music Concert Edition. Scheduled to take place on the 7th of June, the concert edition will showcase the next generation in music experience, featuring the hottest international acts alongside a host of South African artists.

In the weeks leading up to the concert, music lovers simply need to purchase two promotional Castle Lite packs and enter the unique codes. This will ensure access to some of the best local and international tracks available.

At the launch of Extra Cold Music Dion Chang, founder of Flux Trends and renowned for forecasting and identifying cutting edge consumer trends, confirmed that Castle Lite’s innovative concept could take the South African music scene to new heights.

An ‘always on’ music portal

“Extra Cold Music is essentially an ‘always on’ music portal that will provide consumers with access to the latest in local and international music across various genres, including Pop, Hip-Hop, House, Rock, R&B and Kwaito, ” said Andrea Quaye, Castle Lite’s General Manager.

“Each week a total of 5 new tracks will be available for download, comprising of four local tracks and one international. All of the songs selected will have only very recently been added to radio playlists. But what truly makes this innovation stand out is the fact that the tracks are free to download and no data charges apply, except for the USSD dialling costs, which companies cannot legally provide for free, ” says Andrea Quaye.

With the involvement of a music behemoth such as Timbaland and the endorsement of Dion Chang, the Extra Cold Music portal is set to make its mark on the South African music scene, making great music accessible to consumers around the country.
